This is an independent blog solely about the happenings with the Penn State Men’s basketball program. The name is the battlecry of all die-hard fans of this program. It comes from the ugly, black curtains that have hanged from the rafters of the Bryce Jordan Center for too many home basketball games. They are there to hide the empty seats behind them.
I’m currently a Senior at PSU, majoring in Kinesiology. Although, I’m probably going to go back to school to get certified as a teacher of…who knows? I grew up in Harrisburg (Central Dauphin grad). PSU basketball has had way too big of an impact on my life, but I’m not afraid to admit it. I’ve been a fan since birth. I have witnessed more 30+ point losses in my life than wins against ranked squads. Joe Crispin was my childhood idol. I believe I still have my autographed Jan Jagla growth chart, somewhere. You might know me as that pale kid who almost killed Talor Battle after the Illinois game, or from my previous blogs (Crispin and Cream / Battle Does It Again).

Hoping you can help with some ticket questions.
My son and I may drive over for the UM game Feb 6. I can get tickets on Stubhub. But I’m wondering about availability at the game. Are the games usually sold out? Can I get tickets at the box office day of game? Are there usually scalpers around?
My son will be wearing Maize and Blue. Is there a student section that we should avoid? IF, so what’t the section #? Any advice on how to get tickets and where to try to sit would be appreciated.
Also, I just noticed that there are some nice seats in section 105 lower portion. Row FF, is that the 5′th row from the floor? Is it in the student section, my 4′ 2″ son wouldn’t be able to see behind standing students.
Thanks much
Alan
Hey Alan,
I literally just wrote out this long explanation but then realized where those tix you found are. Jump on them, if you’re comfortable with the price. Those are fantastic seats (you’ll be pretty close to the UM bench and the visiting section and opposite of the student section).
If you still need alternatives, ask again, and I’ll expand more when I got time.
Hope this helps,
-Eric
